IN VITRO FERTILISATION ( IVF)

Image
INTRODUCTION   In this session we will first try to understand a little bit about female reproductive system , after that we will get to know what exactly is IVF and what are the main procedures involved in it ,  we will also look at the main causes of In Vitro Fertilization .  little bit about the female reproductive system .. The main parts of the female reproductive system are :  vagina, cervix, uterus, uterine or fallopian tubes and a pair of ovaries.  Generally, during the monthly menstrual cycle, an egg gets released from one of the ovary in ovulation process. Then it is taken up by the fragments of fallopian tube and enters inside it ( a women is more likely to get pregnant if she has sex just after, before or during the ovulation process . ) During that time, sperm enters the vagina, travels towards the fallopian tub...

OBESITY : THE POSTMORTEM ( IN A NUTSHELL )

Image
OBESITY :   THE POSTMORTEM  This was a documentary about the entire procedure of the post mortem of an obese woman who died of the HEART FAILURE ( HYPERTENSIVE HEART DISEASE ) , In this section we will first understand the basic steps and procedures of post mortem and also see the characteristic changes that emerge in the body when there is an unusual accumulation of fat inside it.  We will also try to find out , that if that lady wouldn't have died because of HEART FAILURE what could have been the other LIFE- THREATNING diseases which probably would have caused her death in the future . WHAT IS POST MORTEM ? Post mortem,  also known as Autopsy is an examination of the body after the death . It's main aim is to find out the probable causes of death.         There are various steps involved in the procedure of post mortem , we will try to look at each one of them...

NERVOUS SYSTEM and MIGRAINE DISORDERS

Image
Our Nervous System.. In this session, we will try to understand the basic functioning of our NERVOUS SYSTEM and its tissues, also we will figure out how it gets affected when we have MIGRAINE disorders. The nervous system is responsible for the transmission of information from the brain to the other parts of the body and vise-a-versa , this transmission happens through the electrical impulses that run inside our body through nerve pathways . We all know that our nervous system is made up of nervous tissues which are further made up of nerve cells, these nerve cells are the basic functioning unit of our nervous system. These nerve cells are also called NEURONS.  There are basically three parts of the neuron , which are as follows : CYTON  AXON  NERVE ENDINGS  Cyton or cell body  comprises of the cell's nucleus , usually at the center and...

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM AND COVID-19..

Image
LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR RESPIRATORY SYSTEM      In human beings many organs take part in the process of respiration , these include : Nose, nasal passage, trachea, bronchi, lungs , diaphragm etc. In this section we will try to understand the mechanism of respiration and how it is effected when a person gets a SEVERE CASE of COVID-19 disease. The human respiratory system begins from the nose. Our nose has two holes in it which are called nostrils. There is a passage in the nose behind the nostrils called the nasal passage ( or nasal cavity ). The air for respiration is drawn into our body through nostrils in the nose. From the nasal passage , air enters into pharynx and then goes to the windpipe or trachea. Trachea is a tube which is commonly known as windpipe. The windpipe does not collapse even when there is no air because it is surrounded by or supported by the rings of cartilage. The trachea runs down the neck and divides into two smaller...

IMMUNITY vs HIV and AIDS

Image
MEET OUR IMMUNE CELLS.. An adult human being has about 1 - 1.5 gallon of blood in his body. And as we know the three main components of blood are : 1. Erythrocytes ( RED BLOOD CELLS) 2. Leucocytes ( WHITE BLOOD CELLS) 3. Blood platelets  White blood cells are the cells of the IMMUNE SYSTEM that helps in defending our body against diseases. There are basically two types of WBC's in our body - 1. Granulocytes ( Appear to have stained granules )   2. Agranulocytes ( Absence of granules ) Granulocytes are phagocytic in nature , there are three types of granulocytes in our body - Neutrophils - defends us against bacterial and fungal infections  Eosinophils - primarily deals with parasitic infections and plays a dominant role as inflammatory cells in allergic conditions. Basophils - chiefly responsible for short - term inflammat...
